Role Overview

We are seeking a talented and driven Neuromorphic Device Engineer to join our team and lead the fabrication and testing of neuromorphic devices and arrays. In this role, you will work closely with our Neuromorphic Systems Engineer to develop and optimize the fabrication process, characterize device performance, and integrate these devices into neuromorphic testbeds. You will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art cleanroom facilities, contribute to the development of a groundbreaking technology that has the potential to transform computing as we know it, and pave the way for artificial intelligence that benefits all human beings.

In this role, you will work closely with our Neuromorphic Systems Engineer to develop and optimize the fabrication process, characterize device performance, and integrate these devices into neuromorphic testbeds. You will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art cleanroom facilities, contribute to the development of a groundbreaking technology that has the potential to transform computing as we know it, and pave the way for artificial intelligence that benefits all human beings.

  • Carry out the fabrication of neuromorphic devices and arrays using the IEN facilities at Georgia Tech, following our established standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Perform device characterization, process optimization, and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality and reproducible devices.

  • Develop and maintain characterization scripts, data analysis tools, and fabrication process documentation.

  • Collaborate with the Neuromorphic Systems Engineer to integrate devices into neuromorphic testbeds and demonstrate their functionality.

  • Contribute to the development of intellectual property (IP) and the publication of scientific papers and patents.

  • PhD or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field, with a strong background in nanofabrication and characterization of 2D materials and devices.

  • Hands-on experience with cleanroom fabrication processes, such as EBL, thin film deposition, and dry transfer of 2D materials.

  • Familiarity with twistronics and van der Waals heterostructures is a plus.

  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar programming languages for data analysis and automation.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of engineers and researchers.
